Job Title: 2013-14 Business Education Teacher
Job Description: Due to a recent vacancy, the Villages High School is taking applications for a business education teacher to join the high school business department. The assignment would teach E-Commerce. Candidates must hold a current Florida Teaching Certificate or Statement of Eligibility from the Florida Department of Education in Business Education. Job Title: 2013-14 Gifted Education Teacher
Job Description: Due to the anticipated growth in our student enrollment, applications are being accepted for a K-12 Gifted Education teacher to share responsibilities with a Gifted Education teacher on staff. This team would serve students in the elementary, middle and high school, working toward meeting the IEP requirements of each student in the Gifted Program. The teachers will work with the elementary and middle students in a pull-out program, and the high school students through a consultation-seminar program. This position will begin in August 2013 for the 2013-14 school year. A Florida Professional Certificate with the Gifted Endorsement is required; however, will consider an individual who is working toward the Gifted Endorsement through the Florida Department of Education approved college coursework. This team would run media centers at the three (3) elementary buildings. This position will begin in August 2013 for the 2013-14 school year. Individual must be interested in working with the accelerated reading program as well as with classroom teachers in promoting reading. A Florida Professional Certificate with Educational Media Specialist PreK-12 is required; however, will consider an individual who has a “Statement of Eligibility” from the Florida Department of Education. Job Title: 2013-14 Part-Time ESOL Paraprofessional
Job Description: Due to the anticipated growth in our student enrollment, applications are now being accepted for a Part-Time ESOL (English as a Second Language) Paraprofessional at K-5 grade level. This position will begin in August 2013 for the 2013-2014 school year. Responsibilities will include providing basic subject area teachers assistance in supervising ESOL students' learning activities. Performance responsibilities will be, but not limited to, activities such as carrying out learning activities as prescribed by teachers in listening to oral readings, seatwork and individual learning activities, assisting with administering and assessing standardized and teacher-prepared tests. Effective interpersonal relationships with parents, students, and co-workers will be required that best support the school's ESOL student needs. Qualifications: Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish. The majority of students served are Spanish speakers. Education requirements: Completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education or obtained an associate's (or higher) degree. Job Title: Afternoon After Care Aides
Job Description: Looking for energetic individuals for our After Care Program for the Primary, Intermediate and/or Middle Schools. Part-Time (APPROXIMATELY 2pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday. Candidates must have experience working with and supervising children and possess classroom management skills. Position is responsible for own class of students and will provide creative arts and crafts, and recreational activities. Job Title: Part-Time Media Assistant
Job Description: The Villages High School is looking for someone who will assist the media specialist in running a very dynamic high school library. The applicants should have a love for reading and be willing to read young adult books to help students select appropriate books. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, circulating, shelving, repairing and inventorying the collection; assisting students, faculty and volunteers with media center resources; operating computers and library technologies; processing new resources; creating publicity for special literacy activities using Microsoft Excel 2010 & Publisher 2010; maintaining files and statistics; and performing multiple tasks simultaneously. Preferably looking for someone with a current Florida Teaching Certificate in any secondary subject area. These applicants will be first priority during the selection process, followed by those with an Associate's Degree. To qualify for an interview, all applicants must have Associate's Degree or higher.
