Welcome to the media center where our goal is to inspire a love of reading. 

Summer Reading Program

Students who will be enrolled at The Villages Charter Elementary School Primary or Intermediate Centers are encouraged to participate in our Summer Reading Enrichment program.  The program begins on June 17 and ends on August 13.  During this period students will be able to take Accelerated Reader quizzes at The Villages Charter High School in room 139 on Tuesdays between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and on Thursdays between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Two additional testing dates will be available at the middle school computer lab, room 207; Tuesday, August 12 from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and Wednesday, August 13 from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.  Students who earn the points indicated below for their new grade level by the last day of summer testing will receive special recognition at the beginning of the school year.

2008-2009

Second Grade:  5 points (May include short chapter books and/or picture books)

Third Grade:     5 points (May include short chapter books and/or picture books)

Fourth Grade:   8 points (May include short chapter books and/or picture books)

We hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities to encourage your child to continue to develop his or her reading skills.

AR Quiz List

Parents can access the Accelerated Reader Quiz List by following these steps:

1. Go to www.renlearn.com
2. Click on "store" at the top of the page
3. Click on "quiz search" under the "quiz store" section

Search by book title, author, quiz number, or ISBN. When you press GO, if the book comes up, there is a quiz available. It will also indicate the reading level and points assigned for that book.
