The Villages Charter Elementary Schools will hold their annual Book-O-Ween celebration on Friday, October 28th. Students are invited to dress as a favorite storybook character that day as we celebrate our love of reading and books!

Please help your child choose an appropriate outfit to represent a character found in a children’s book. Masks, toy guns, swords, or weapons of any kind are not permitted for the safety of all. Your child needs to have the book that matches their outfit with them to hold during the parade. Contact your child’s teacher or Media Specialist if you need assistance in finding a book.  If the costume restricts free movement needed for PE/recess, please send in a uniform to change into.  All students will need athletic shoes which they will change into after the parade.

Our Book-O-Ween parade will begin at 8:05 a.m. at the Primary Center, 8:50 a.m. at the Intermediate Center, and 9:30 at the 4/5 building. Parents are welcome to join us to watch as our favorite storybooks come to life.

Growth Mindset Videos- Informational PI Hours

Growth Mindset videos from the Florida Department of Education address how the research of Dr. Carol Dweck who states that the way students think impacts their attitudes toward learning and how they perform in the classroom.

Each video lesson and accompanying survey will earn parents 30 minutes of informational time.  While both parents may review the two videos and five articles, credit will be awarded to only one parent for a maximum of 3.5 hours per household.

To take advantage of this opportunity for earning informational hours, access these resources at:
