Primary Center Media Center
December is here already and hopefully some chilly weather. I am ready to curl up with a blanket and a good book. Check out the December newsletter listed below in PDF form for some suggested reading.
Our students are reading and AR testing every day. They have earned an amazing 10,075.3 points as of November 30th. Our goal for the school year is 20,000. Thank you for helping us fosters a love of reading with your children. Remember we ask that each kindergartener earn 15 points and first graders earn 25 points for the year. They will receive a fun reward of a dress down day if they can earn half of that by December 18th. That would be 7.5 for Kindergarten and 12.5 for first grade with 80% comprehension
Our first book fair at the primary Center will be December 7-11th. Monday-Thursday 8:00-2:15, Thursday, Dec 10th 3:00-6:00 for our Family Night and Friday 8:00-1:00. Every child shopping on Family Night will be entered into a drawing for a basket full of books!
December 18th marks the end of the second nine weeks. We are celebrating your child’s success toward reaching the half way mark to achieving their year goal. For Kindergarten that would be 7.5 points of the 15 points and for First Grade it would be 12.5 of 25 points with 80% comprehension. If your child has achieved this mark by December 18th they will receive an invitation to dress down in January.

Parent PI Books
The Elementary Media Centers offer the following books that you may read and take AR tests on for infomational hours. I recommend you read them earlier in the year as they can be hard to find the closer we get to May! Please note: you must have a student enrolled in the Elementary School to read and test on these books for PI time. The media centers at the Middle and High Schools have books for parents of their students.
