April Focus: Letters: long A,I,O,U ; sight words: help, too, play, has, where, look, who, good; rhyming, long/short vowels, controlling R, reading fluency, comprehension; count to 100, subtraction & addition fluency and 3-D shapes
Field Trip: We will be going to the Glazer Chidren's Museum in Tampa on Thursday, April 6. Students will leave the school at 8:00AM and return at 3:00PM. Chaperones will need to provide their own transportation and earn 4 hours of PI time. Please pack lunches in a Ziploc bag with your child's name. We will wear red uniform shirts.
Spring centers & Egg hunt: Friday, April 14th we will have fun spring centers from 8:30-10:00 and an egg hunt at 10:30. We need parents to help with egg dying, crafts, a recipe and bingo at centers and to hide the eggs at 10:00 when the kids go to computer lab. Please send in 1 dozen plastic treat filled eggs by Thursday for our egg hunt. Thank you!

Baggie Books: We will continue with homework baggie books this month. Your child will bring home a book in a Ziploc baggie to read to you at home for homework. Your child will be familiar with the book, but may need some help with new words. Please help your child read the book several times and return it to school within 2 days in the baggie. Books will go home every Monday and Wednesday. Books must be returned in order to get a new book.
Conferences: Please make sure to set up a conference time for our parent/teacher conference if we have not yet met. I am available most days at 10:00, 3:00 and 3:30 A reminder will be written in the planner on the date.
AR: If you have read a book at home to your child 2-3 times and your child is ready to take an AR test please write the title of the book or the AR test # in their planner. My assistant or a volunteer will test your child during the school day. We will put their score in the planner. I need parents to come in once a week to AR test children. If you are interested please let me know. Thanks!
Box Tops: VCS collects box tops for education. Our school receives 10 cents for every box top we collect. Please put them in the pockect of your child's planner.
