I can't believe we are already in the month of October and at the end of our 1st 9 weeks! This month we will be learning about many things including: Fire Safety (Week of Oct.6), Motion & Force, Christopher Columbus Day (Week of Oct.13), Maps, and Globes. We will also continue to build our math and reading skills.
The class is doing very well with their baggy and AR books. Please remind your child to bring their AR book & baggy book back to school every day. They have many opportunities to read with a buddy, read on their own, take tests, and check-out new books from our library. These opportunities will allow for your child to accomplish their goals and build upon reading skills such as comprehension.
Thank you for all you have been doing to help your child this year already. I truly believe the more we work together, the further your child will succeed. Also, thank you to all who have been helping us in the classroom. Please feel free to write a note in your child's agenda if you are interested in volunteering in any way.
Book - O - Ween - This event will be on October 31st. Please prepare to have your child dress up WITH a book that goes along with their costume. Please let me know if you need any help with this. I have many books in my room that can match with just about any costume. I look forward to seeing all of the students in "character".
As always, don't hesitate to email me or write a note in your child's agenda with any questions, comments, or concerns. Thank you for all you do!
Our classroom is in need of some miscellaneous items:
Small Treasure box items
8pk small white poster board
Snacks (No peanut ingredients please)
Magnets (Heavy Duty)
Plastic Containers with wheels
Recycled Materials (That can be
used for crafts/storage)
Other items that could be of good use in our classroom
All of these items can go toward PI time or will just be happily
accepted into the classroom :) If you would like to volunteer in the
classroom or help with things for the classroom at home, please do not hesitate
to email me or write a note in your child's agenda. This is a big help
for the students and I :)
