I can't believe we are already beginning our 3rd full week of school. I have been very impressed with everyone in the class and see all of my friends working very hard in the classroom. Thank you for all of your help at home :) I look forward to working closely with my students and families this year. TOGETHER we will make an amazing team :)
This Friday, August 29, we will have our 2nd graded spelling/dictation test. Please look over the previous spelling test to review what we are looking for in your child's work/handwriting. This past week the class did a fabulous job and I was very impressed. Don't forget, the words for the tests can be found in your child's agenda on the current week's page or on our website. We will practice these words in the classroom but extra practice at home is always very beneficial for the child. Please let me know if there's anything I can help with :) I have posted a PDF of spelling activities that you can use at home at the bottom of our page.
*Don't forget!!!!!!! Our SMART-T project is due this Friday, August 29th. Each child should have their SMART-T turned in and be able to present their "smarts" to the class :) Please let me know if you have any questions.
This month we will continue to learn about addition and addition strategies in math, citizenship in social studies, the 5 senses and science tools in science, and in reading we will continue to learn how to read and strengthen our comprehension skills. These skills/lessons can also be practiced at home through homework, practice/review, and by visiting our curriculum websites (ConnectEd & Thinkcentral). More information will be coming soon regarding these sites and additional resources!
Our classroom is in need of some miscellaneous items:
Snacks (No peanut ingredients please)
Class Plant - Indoor/Outdoor
Plastic Containers with wheels
Bags for Baggy Books
Pack of Black Socks (For student erasers) - 12pk
Recycled Materials (That can be
used for crafts/storage)
Other items that could be of good use in our classroom
All of these items can go toward PI time or will just be happily
accepted into the classroom :) If you would like to volunteer in the
classroom or help with things for the classroom at home please do not hesitate
to email me or write a note in your child's agenda. This is a big help
for the students and I :)
As always, don't hesitate to email me or write a note in your
child's agenda with any questions, comments, or concerns. Thank you for
all you do!
