GOBBLE! GOBBLE! GOBBLE! Happy November to you all. I can feel Fall in the air as the cool fronts have begun. With that thought in mind please be sure to dress your children warm and PLEASE put their names in their jackets. A sharpie on the white inside label works well or you can have it embroidered at our school uniform store, Custom Apparel. They misplace them often and it is so helpful to have their names in them. Thanks for your help with this.
Lots of fun learning and activities coming up this month, including our Field Trip. Please be sure to keep an eye on notes coming home in binders about this and other important dates/materials. Your students will have their 2nd at home project coming home this week. These Heritage Dolls tie in with our studies on life long ago and today and also reinforce the cultural theme. Please contact me if you have any questions about them when they come home. Have fun with these and be creative!
Your children are so excited about checking out library books to read along with their own baggy books. Please be sure that these books are getting read at least 2 times each night so that they are prepared for their AR comprehension tests in the morning. For every 5 points they earn while keeping their comprehension rate above 80%, they get to go down to the media center and get a prize. This is a nice incentive for many of them. If they require help please feel free to read their library books with them for now. Remember that if the nights get busy I would like to see the baggy books be the priority when it comes to reading. Be sure to send them back daily. Thank you so much for helping your child to be responsible and bring their books and homework to school each day.
