Hello Kindergarten Families!
Buffalo Basket Benefit: November 14th 6:00 @ Lake Miona Recreation Center – Adult event
Thanksgiving Program: Friday, November 20, 2015 11am-12pm at the PC
Our kindergarten classes are hosting a Thanksgiving Program and our families are invited to join us. The children will be presenting a Thanksgiving play and singing holiday songs. We also invite you to join your child for lunch after the program. Students are required to have their normal lunches (home or school) and parents may bring their lunch as well for all of us to eat together. IF weather permits, please plan to bring some kind of picnic blanket to lay out in the court yard or we will all eat in the classroom.
This month we'll be learning the sight words go, you, do and letters Cc, Oo, Dd & their sounds. Please practice the first 10-20 sight words, read and count daily with your child. Homework will be coming home & due on Friday.
Thanks for all you do!
Scholastic Book Order: Order Due date: November 22nd. Click HERE to order. Please see the parent note below for more information about ordering and how to order online! Scholastic books are not only a great way to get books for your child for a great price, they also help build our classroom library! Happy reading!
Boxtops for Education:Our class is collecting Box Tops for education! Did you know that for every Box Top you send in our school earns 10¢? It's as simple as clipping Box Tops and sending them to school in your child's binder. We'll take care of the rest! Below, I have attached some forms for easy collecting. Or if you'd like, you can send them to school in a sealed baggy.
Accelerated Reading: Your boys and girls have checked out their first book from the Media Center! They were very excited, and I hope you have read it with them a few times. Now that you have read your child's book with them 2-3 times, they may be ready to take an Accelerated Reading test at school. I have attached a detailed letter explaining our AR program at the bottom of this page, so please be sure to read it. If you feel your child is ready to take an AR test, please complete the AR log in your child's binder. This will be the way you let me know they are ready. Your child will be given the test by myself or our assistant and we will record the score in your child's agenda. Then, your child will be able to return the book to the Media Center to check out another. If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know. Please remember, your child's AR goal for this year is 15 points and 80% comprehension. We would love extra help in the classroom giving AR tests. If you are available mornings 8:00-9:00, please let me know...we'd love to have you in!
