Happy September! It is hard to believe that we have already been in school for 3 ½ weeks!! Thank you to everyone who donated items from the “PI” tree. Please let me know if you are ever interested in sending in donations for the class. We are always happy to accept items for our room! I have several parent volunteers helping out in the classroom on a weekly basis. If you are interested, and have not sent back your volunteer form, please do so as soon as possible. I’m always looking for volunteers, both in and out of the room. If your availability changes or if you would like to work on a special home project, please jot me a note in your child’s binder or send me an email. Also, there are still slots available for our Founder’s Day booth so let me know if you would like to help out that evening.
Speaking of Founder’s Day, I encourage you to come out for a fun-filled family evening on Friday, September 30th. There will be plenty of game booths, performances, rides and delicious food! The event takes place at the high school stadium, on both fields. Come celebrate the founding of our fabulous school…hope to see you there!
Please don’t forget to check the “Keep at Home” side of your child’s binder each Monday. All of the previous week’s work will be sent home on that day. Reviewing this work with your child will be very beneficial.
We have a busy month ahead! Make sure to check our calendar each week for information on school events and our classroom assignments. Our monthly newsletter will also be posted for your information, just in case your home copy gets misplaced. Spelling and reading tests are every Friday. The week’s spelling words are located in your child’s binder. The spelling words and High Frequency Words are on our “Peek at the Week” page, as well. Your child should be able to read the High Frequency Words by Friday. Baggy Books and Math homework are sent home Monday – Thursday. Please make sure to review your child’s math homework with him/her before it is returned to school. In addition, please remember to check and sign your child’s binder each evening. It is a great way to stay in touch with us!
Finally, I am so fortunate to be a partner with you in your child’s education. Please contact me if you ever have a comment, question or concern. I’m always available at some time throughout the day and I promise to get back with you promptly.
