Dear Kindergarten Families,
September will be full of fun! We will be doing apple activities and learning about Johnny Appleseed, continuing with numbers 6-10, learning letters and sight words. Sight words are in your child's agenda. Please be sure to practice on a regular basis. Founder's Day festival is Friday, September 12th. Thank you parents who offered to help out at our booth. Please be sure to come to our booth at your schedule time. We will see you there!
A few things to remember:
-your child will need a healthy snack daily
-review your child's lunch choice with them in the morning (packing, hot lunch, salad, PB&J or our Tuiti Fruiti Yogurt box)
-be sure your child has a COMPLETE change of uniform clothing at school (including underwear and socks) labeled with his/her name
-go through homework folder nightly
-sign by your child clip # they earned for the day
-complete homework with your child
Kindergarten Homework Policy
In order to help your child practice their new skills, they will be assigned one sheet of homework nightly, Monday-Thursday. In addition, it is advised that you do the following on a regular basis with your child:
· Read together
· Practice sight words
· Practice Letters recognition and sounds
· Practice any specific skills your child may be continuing to work on
Please be sure to review the completed homework with your child and initial at the top of the page so we know you have gone over it and are aware of how they are performing.
Your support is key to your child’s success!
If you have any questions, feel free to email me or jot a note in your child's agenda.
