The Founder's Day Festival was such a huge success! It was so nice to see all of you enjoying the fun. Thank you so much to the parents who volunteered on Friday. Mrs. Cree and I greatly appreciate your time and effort.
Conferences have been scheduled and you should have received a confirmation email from me. Please contact me if you have not yet received a conference day/time.
Our Social Studies unit that we have been learning about is geared toward government and civics. Your child has been learning all about how a government is run; the different levels of government; the leaders for each level; and the responsibilities of each. The students have shown great interest in this topic and have learned so much already! It is also great timing for this unit since Wednesday, September 17th is Constitution Day. We will dig a little deeper into our Constitution and participate in a virtual field trip!
We are getting stronger in completing cold reads, and will be continuously working on them every week. In math, we have began our journey into multiplication and soon multiplication fact practice will be sent home. This week your child will continue to work on their subtraction facts 1-12.
Please make sure you are checking your child's BEACH Binder every night. Take the papers in the KEEP AT HOME section out so that I can continue to send home their weekly papers. Also, please sign your child's agenda every night. This helps me make quick observations that you are monitoring your child's daily homework and behavior.
Please continue to check my teacher website weekly. Here you will get updates on classroom activities, important information, and documents that are updated and attached at the bottom of my page. Again, if you have any questions you would like to ask before the first day of school please email me at Samantha.Sheffield@tvcs.org
LOVE, Mrs. Sheffield
