to the wonderful world of Physical Education (PE). We get physical in our
daily activities, which includes fitness and fun!! Your child will have
PE every day for 30 minutes. All I ask is that your child participates
fully, and gives their best effort. Sometimes the things we do are
difficult, but never impossible.
month of September was packed full of activities. We finished out the month and
the first few days of October in our Manipulative Unit. Our students enjoyed
working with bean bags, scarves, fluff balls, ribbon wands, and hoops. We will
start our unit on Balance, Stunts and Tumbling October 6. We will do activities
that will be individual and with partners. Our objectives with this unit are
cooperation, spatial awareness, cardiovascular endurance, enjoyment of
movement, fair play, balance, stunts, non-loco-motor and loco-motor movement,
muscular endurance and flexibility. We love for our students to make a home
connection with the activities they learn in class. There are so many games and
fitness skills that can be played and practiced at home. Your student will
enjoy sharing with you what they have learned at school. Ask your student about
"Catch a Tail", or "Here Comes the Fox". These are both
activities they love and can easily be done at home.
I look forward to meeting and spending time with your child each
and every day. If you have any questions, or concerns please don't
hesitate to call me at 352-259-7700.
