Welcome to the wonderful world of Physical Education (PE). We
get physical in our daily activities, which includes fitness and fun!!
Your child will have PE every day for 30 minutes. All I ask is that your
child participates fully, and gives their best effort. Sometimes
the things we do are difficult, but never impossible.
The first two weeks
of March will be devoted to our Dribbling, Volleying and Striking Unit. This
unit focuses on movement skills such as bouncing, catching and dribbling balls
of different sizes as well as striking objects with a hand, then progressing to
short & long handled implements. We will use balloons for students to
practice their volleying and striking skills. The students always love to play
completing our Dribbling, Volleying and Striking Unit, we will begin our Post
Presidential Fitness Test. This test involves five components; sit-ups,
push-ups, sit and reach, shuttle run and theĽ mile run. Throughout the year we
have been working with your child on all of the fitness skills. At the end of
the year we will send home a Pre & Post test score sheet so you can see how
they have improved and maybe some areas that need special attention and can be
practiced at home over the summer.
