Welcome to the wonderful world of Physical Education (PE). We get physical in our daily activities, which includes fitness and fun!! Your child will have PE every day for 30 minutes. All I ask is that your child participates fully, and givestheir best effort. Sometimes the things we do are difficult, but never impossible. My goal is to set forth challenges that will help your child to grow and learn more about becoming physically fit.
The first three weeks of February will be devoted to Kicking and Trapping. This unit focuses on the development of foot-striking skills such as dribbling, passing and kicking a ball. The students will learn the skills through exploration and experimentation. These foundational skills will give the students the appropriate first steps towards participating in sports such as soccer, football, and kickball. We will begin our Dribbling, Volleying and Striking unit toward the end of February which will introduce students to skills that will lay the foundation to sports such as basketball, volleyball, and tennis. As always we will continue to have fitness days incorporated into our units, which include stretching, running, sit-ups, and push-ups.
I look forward to meeting and spending time with your child each and every day. If you have any questions, or concerns please don’t hesitate to call me at 352-259-7700.
