Welcome to the wonderful world of Physical Education (PE). We get physical in our daily activities, which includes fitness and fun!! Your child will have PE every day for 30 minutes. All I ask is that your child participates fully, and gives their best effort. Sometimes the things we do are difficult, but never impossible. My goal is to set forth challenges that will help your child to grow and learn more about becoming physically fit.
August was such a fun month during our Building a Foundation Unit. Students learned and practiced loco motor movements, directions, pathways, tempos, and levels within the space that they play. September brings the Fitness Challenge in which every student will be pre-tested in the five components of fitness, sit-ups, military push-ups, ¼ mile run, sit and reach, and shuttle run. Following the Fitness Unit will be our Manipulative Unit in which students learn how to manipulate items such as hoops, scarves, ribbons, and bean bags.
I look forward to meeting and spending time with your child each and every day. If you have any questions, or concerns please don’t hesitate to call me at 352-259-7700
