Welcome to the wonderful world of Physical Education (PE). We get physical in our daily activities, which includes fitness and fun!! Your child will have PE every day for 30 minutes. All I ask is that your child participates fully, and gives their best effort. Sometimes the things we do are difficult, but never impossible. My goal is to set forth challenges that will help your child to grow and learn more about becoming physically fit.
The first two weeks of March will be devoted to our Dribbling, Volleying and Striking Unit. This unit focuses on movement skills such as bouncing and catching and hand dribbling balls of different sizes, as well as striking objects with the hand, then progressing to short and long handled implements. We will use balloons for students to practice both their volleying and their striking skills. The students always love playing with balloons!!!
After completing our Dribbling, Volleying and Striking Unit, it will be time for Spring Break. When we return from break, we will begin a unit called SNAG Golf. Students will be exposed to golf skills using equipment designed with kids in mind, using terminology and equipment that is just their size. This unit should be lots of fun!!
