What a great Founder's Day festival! The rain moved on and the night was a complete success. Thank you to all who volunteered. Your work does not go unnoticed, however if for some reason you were unable to sign in at the front gate please make sure and let me know so that I can get your PI time recorded. Our little pool of sand was a success even between two very active booths. Thank you again for serving and participating. I was out taking pictures for the yearbook so if I missed seeing you I apologize.
This week is constitution week. We have already been reading the preamble to the constitution and will study more about that this week. If you have any experience with government or family pictures from Washington D.C. vacations please allow your child to share them with the class. Having completed our first science unit we will move back into Social Studies and a short look at our government.
Wednesday will be our Reading Celebration from 9 am to 10 am at the middle school gym. You are welcome to join us as we watch the annual reading skit and hear what the school goal will be for Accelerated Reading. Students have made a special head topper for the occasion. I will be bringing my camera and I am sure you would want to also.
We complete our second chapter in math with a test on Tuesday and our first unit in reading with a culminating test that I plan on spreading out three days, Wednesday through Friday. The spelling will be a review of the past five weeks and the homework packet will look different as well, with a review of skills, vocabulary, and writing.
I hope you had a great weekend and I know we are going to have a great week. Thank you for being wonderful parents to my fabulous class.
