We are working hard into the 2nd 9 weeks of school! I see most students motivated with their reading and working hard toward their goals! If they are reading each night, they should be able to easily achieve the goal that is set. Please make sure that your child is reading nightly and getting their Reading Log signed. This is a graded requirement and is also critical for students to meet their 9 weeks AR goal.
Also, please make sure your student is completing their ELA or SS homework for me as assigned. It is recorded in their agenda and is on the website weekly. These assignments can affect their grade if not completed and are also needed for practice of skills.
I am so proud of the students and their hard work on our 50 States memorization! They have all done an amazing job and I am so impressed by their knowledge of so many of the capitals for extra credit as well. We will be having a States Celebration in November to celebrate! Look for information to come home soon about that (once we get through the needs for Book-o-ween and the Basket Auction and you get a little time to breathe!).
The Buffalo Basket Auction is coming soon! Our basket is a Florida Gators Tailgating Basket. Please help us by sending in all things Gators. The deadline for these items will be November 1. We want this to be a fantastic basket that raises a lot of money for our school! :)
Please also make sure your student brings in a small pumpkin for our Book-o-ween project on Friday. I'd like all pumpkins in by Thursday so I can plan accordingly. Also, any donation of Sharpie markers and other craft supplies to decorate would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
