We are finishing up the 2nd 9 weeks and students have been working so hard! They have completed their ocean research and prepared presentations about all they have learned! Some of our 3rd grade students created videos about their ocean animal research, posted below! They couldn't wait to share!!
Students have also selected their long term project! Our first grade students will be working on month long projects that will require them to use the scientific method and experiment, while incorporating literature as well! In November, 1st grade did Mayflower research and built their own floating Mayflower! They also applied knowledge to make real butter! Yum!
Our 2nd and 3rd grade students have all selected a video production project and are working hard on their projects! 2nd Grade is in the editing phase of their first video and are talking about adding a second video! 3rd graders are in the filming/recording phase of their projects!
For the month of November, 2nd and 3rd grade also did research on Plymouth and the Mayflower and took a Virtual Field Trip to Plimoth, MA!
In December, 1st grade engineered and elf trap and 2nd and 3rd grade completed a Christmas Shopping Webquest complete with their own budget!

We will be meeting with Middle School Gifted Classes on Mondays 2nd, 3rd, or 4th periods. Middle School Gifted students should have received an index card with their class period. I have also notified the teachers. Please contact me if you have any questions!
Middle School Students have completed their Stock Market Challenge! Some of us made money and some of us lost money, but we all gained valuable knowledge about the stock market and how we can make it work for us!
Over the next several weeks, we will be doing mini STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Be on the lookout for our new semester long project when we return from Winter Break!
