Chorus EOY Exam: May 10, 2017: All students will recieve a study guide next week, along with daily in-class review.
6th Grade Spring Concert (mandatory) May 9, 2017: All students will need to wear their chorus uniform for this concert. This concert will be held in the VCMS gymnasium.
Girls - Black uniform dress, with black close toed shoes
Boys- Black button up shirt 3/4 length sleeves or longer, black slacks, black belt, and black or very dark close-toed shoes.
May 12-14, 2017 - Chorus dresses are due back to Mrs. Carlson.

all unreturned dresses will have a replacement fee of $55

Students are taking skills quizes that quiz them on the follwoing: vocabulary terms, and music symbols from the previous lessons
Begin Music History Unit- Who is Mozart, Bethoven, Bach, Handel? Overview of the periods in music

What's happening in 6th & 7th grade Peer Counseling?
Right is Right even if no one is doing it. Wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it.
Students are enjoying activities that focus on a word hat helps build character each week. So far we have completed activites that have focused on Courage, Citizenship, Loyalty, and Honesty. These activities go along with our daily quotes and bell ringers that serve as an intro to our class each day. We are also learning how to release stress in positive ways
Students are working on creative brochures that cover the habits that we have worked on this year

What's Happening in 3rd Grade Music?
Students are playing rythm's and songs on the tubano drums
Students are identifying notes and note values
Students are creating their own rhythm patterns through activities that include manipulatives and other hands-on opportunities to explore music
Students are reviewing music skills and sharpening those skills in preparation for the end of year
Students are singing the following songs: Don't Laugh at Me, Let the Games Begin
