¡HOLA! It is busy, busy, busy in
la clase de Español! Below you will find new vocabulary for the 2nd
quarter as well as additional online practice sites for vocabulary we are or
have been working on. Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions or
concerns. (E-mail: email@example.com Phone: 259-7700)
GRACIAS: As we begin the month of
“noviembre” I’d like to take a moment to say how thankful I am to get to work
with (your) children. The hugs, the “¡Hola Señora Barker!s, the laughter and the
silliness we have together…… They are a blessing to me every day!
KINDERGARTEN: We are just
beginning our new unit on pets. We will talk about pets we have (Yo tengo…) and
pets we want (Yo quiero…). We will learn the names of common pets like dog (el
perro), cat (el gato) and rabbit (el conejo). We continue to introduce our
families to the class with a few students sharing each time.
FIRST GRADE: We continue to
practice the days of the week and months of the year. Oral assessments for
these are on-going and are not due until the end of the quarter. We have begun
a new unit called, “La Tierra” (Earth). We will be working with the question, “¿Dónde
está…? (Where is…?) as well as vocabulary from the unit. Our family
presentations continue with a few students presenting each class period.
CULTURA: We are learning about
Spanish speaking countries and their cultures. We often begin the class learning
an interesting fact about something from a Spanish speaking country. It could
be about an animal, a type of food, a celebration, a people group, etc. with
pictures on PowerPoint.
