Please check the calendar below as well as your child's agenda for homework, testing dates, and other important items.
Please double check that students are returning to school with their agenda and homework each day. Thank you.
Students are continuing their nightly reading log homework and flash cards.
Congratulations to Nick Saucier, Emma Gordon, and Gabe Finley for earning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place on their Tropicana Speeches. I was super impressed with the entire class. It takes a lot of courage to deliver a speech to a group of people, and I couldn't be more proud of my students for a job well done!
Coming up, your child will be acting in a play on May 17th to celebrate success for this year as a 4th grader. The students are very excited to perform for you. Please talk with your child about an easy costume/prop option(letter was sent home). Please contact me if you have any questions about this.
Also, in the afternoon on May 17th, we are having a guest speaker! Her name is Ginny Feathers and she is a local beekeeper at Riverview Apiaries. Students will be learning about the importance of bees and butterfiles. This is a great concluding activity to our wonderful field trip to the Florida Museum. Thank you to Mrs. Finley, Gabe's mom, for helping us set up this incredible guest speaker experience.
In math, students are preparing for skills necessary to be successful in 5th grade and they are feeling confident to make the transition! I am very proud of them.
Students are enjoying their 1st novel study entitled Where the Red Fern Grows. We are having rich discussion as well as reviewing all the skills we have learned this year, such as figurative language and strong adjectives, directly from reading a good book! The love for reading is in the air!
We are enjoying our final days together as a class, and I want to thank you as parents for supporting your child and your child's teacher. Let's finish the school year strong!
