Welcome to physical education at The Villages Charter School. This year I will be working at both the Primary Center and the Intermediate Center where your child will reach new heights in the world of physical education.

Primary Center:  In the new year, we have begun our jumping and landing unit here at the Primary Center. Jumping provides vigorous, total body conditioning for children. During this unit your child will address general coordination, rhythm and timing, muscular strength and endurance, and cardiovascular endurance. They will participate in activities such as jumping and landing exploration, stationary jump roping, and self-turning a rope.

Intermediate Center: We are DANCING our way into the new year!! We have begun our dance unit here at the Intermediate Center during which your students will learn how to move with rhythm. They will have experience learning several different line dances including: The Cupid Shuffle, The Electric Slide, Cotton Eye Joe, and The Mississippi Slide among others! We will also be applying more of a focus on fitness and adding "Fitness Days" into our week, these days will focus on increasing a students strength and endurance as well as teach them how to live a healthy lifestyle!
