Ms. Kellie Dixon « Teacher Connection / Documents / Calendar
Dear Parents, families, and students,
What a wonderful and productive week we have had. The children are all doing such a great job working hard and following all of our rules and procedures. Please see the PDF documents below for my August newsletter. If you have any questions about our curriculum or anything else on the newsletter, please let me know. Take a moment and mark your calendar for Monday, August 24, 2015, the night of our open house, from 6:00-7:30. We will have two sessions (one with the teacher and the other session with the special area teachers). Please remember to sign out on your second session to earn your PI time for this informational night.
I want to take a moment and touch on a couple things that I have discussed with the children. First, we will be having a snack time each day in the afternoon. It is the responsibility of each child to have their own snack. I ask that the snack be able to be eaten with their fingers and be of nutritious value. Grapes, carrot and or celery sticks, gold fish, apples, pretzels, cheese-its, and fruit snacks are just a few suggestions. I will not have extra snacks available, so please make sure that your child has one packed. Second, your child may bring in a water bottle to place on their desk. This will help with the up and down of going to the water fountain. The only thing that I ask is that the water bottle not have a screw top. If it gets knocked over, it could cause a mess. If you should have any questions about either the snack or water bottles, please feel free to contact me.
Homework will continue the same as last week. Homework will be given Monday through Thursday, and will consist of a reading sheet and a daily math homework page. Thursday night students will have to write their Spelling words three times each in order to prepare for their Spelling test on Friday. I ask that you look over your child's homework and initial each piece. Please remember that the homework is due the next day unless I specify differently. Homework turned in a day late will automatically receive a 60% (unless the child has been absent).
I wish everyone a happy work week. Please feel free to contact me anytime with your concerns. Don't forget to send in those box tops!
