Welcome back to school and Happy New Year! I hope all of you had a fun holiday break with your families and friends.
Throughout the year, this website will keep you up to date with upcoming sports units and other important information.
Your child will have PE every day for 30 minutes. All I ask is that your child participates fully, and gives their best effort.
4th/5th Grade Unit:
We completed our football unit and for the month of January will be reviewing previous skills from earlier units taught. With the uncertain weather conditions and 5th Grade field trips this month, the we will be playing a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Each week we will have 2 days of fitness and 2-3 days of skill related activities corresponding with the unit we are covering.
Kindergarten Grade Unit:
We will be jumping and dancing our way through the month of
January. The first two weeks will be devoted to jumping. Students will be jumping
for distance, jumping hurdles and jumping rope in this unit. Jumping is great for
the heart, and a great exercise you can do just about anywhere. Dancing will take up
the second half of the month. Students will learn dances such as the Bunny Hop, The
Mexican Hat Dance, The Hokey Pokey and The Conga. During the dance unit we will
introduce the dance (to be determined) that will be performed during “Arts in the
Park”. Stay tuned for more information about our exciting Arts in the Park event.
