Our end of year awards and reader's theater performances are this Thursday, May 21st at 11:30 a.m. I hope you are able to attend!
This week in language arts we will continue our unit on fairy tales. Students will be researching to find common fairy tale elements, comparing fairy tales, and building their reading fluency as they practice their fairy tale reader's theater scripts. Our reading centers will review phonics and grammar skills learned throughout the year- all with a fairy tale theme!
In math and science we will review skills learned throughout the year as students work in groups to complete some fairy tale themed STEM (science, technology, engineering, & math) challenges.
We had so much fun with our special events last week!! Thank you to all of the parents who sent in donations for the pancake breakfast and came to volunteer on field day. We have two more events this week at school. On Thursday morning at 8:00, all of the primary center students will perform songs on the courtyard and listen to a guest speaker in honor of Memorial Day. Ms. Fraser has asked that students wear red, white, or blue uniform shirts for the performance. Also on Thursday, our class will celebrate a year of hard work and learning at our awards program. I hope you can join us from 11:30-12:30 a.m!
Thank you for all of your support and involvement this school year. We have a wonderful group of students and I'm excited about spending this last week doing some fun learning projects together.
Have a great week!
