Picture day is this Thursday, September 4th. School uniforms are required.
This week in class, our language arts focus skills
will be reading and writing words with the short I sound and double final
consonants, like in hill and kiss. We will also work on writing complete sentences with correct word order. Please remember to read and
return your child’s baggie book every
day as well. The title of the book should be recorded on the
reading log so that it is easy for your child to add his or her score after
completing AR tests each day. Any books
from home or the media center that you would like for your child to AR test on
should also be recorded in the reading folder.
In math, we are learning about subtraction strategies
and vocabulary. Please check your
child’s math homework every evening and make sure it is placed back in the
front of his or her binder.
In social studies, we will finish up our
unit on citizenship. Your child will
bring home a vocabulary review flapbook to help study for our social studies
quiz at the end of the week.
We are off to a wonderful start to our school year,
and it has been a pleasure getting to know your families better. If you
have any questions, concerns, or ideas for helping your child, please feel to
contact me any time at Elizabeth.email@example.com.
Have a great week!
