We are in the final six weeks of our first grade year, but there is still much to be done! Please be sure that your child is at school every day (and on time) if possible...there are many activities and assignments we are trying to complete in the last 30 days and it can be difficult to get it all done if students are frequently absent.
Notes about our final at-home project, Garbage Monsters, came home on April 6th. These projects are to be complete BY THE STUDENTS, with help from parents as needed. The monsters are due on Friday, April 22nd.Please note that no late projects are accepted (this is a language arts grade). It is very important that students be able to present their projects to the class, so please help them prepare for the presentation.
Also, please mark your calendar for Tuesday, May 10th - Arts in the Park is here! Students may begin arriving at 5:30; the show will begin promptly at 6:00.
Finally, I will be sending notes home to schedule our final conferences. Please be on the look out for these. Additionally, our end of the year program will be sometime the final week of school during the school day. I will let you know the exact time and day as soon as I know!
Please continue to check and initial your child's binder nightly, as well as check and sign their homework that comes home in the front of their binder. The students are making great progress with their baggy books, so please continue to read and discuss those with your child as well.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions! :)
