What a GREAT year we are having so far...the students are learning and growing so quickly - and it is only the first nine weeks!
Some things of importance are listed below. Please take a moment to look over them and let me know of any questions or concerns you may have.
Progress Reports- These will come home Tuesday, September 9th, for all first grade students. PLEASE look over them carefully and return the signed acknowledgment slip the next day.
Founder's Day - Everyone's favorite fall event is Friday, September 12th, at the VHS football field. Come out and enjoy a fabulous evening of games, snacks, prizes, and LOTS of fun! Be sure to stop by our booth! :)
First Grade Parent Night - Mark your calendars for October 16th! Please come out to learn more about our first grade unit. We will be discussing (at length) various topics, including the new standards based report card, the new DEA assessment, and many more! Attending Parent Night will earn you informational PI hours!
As always, please continue to read baggy books and library books at home! Your children are doing a great job with this new challenge! Also, Tuesday nights now include a single page of reading comprehension homework. I ask that you please let your student try to do this on his/her own before you check and help. This gives them an opportunity to learn and grow!
Please let me know if you have ANY questions as our year goes on. I am always available via email (see link below). You and I are a team, and I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to work with you and your child. I am looking forward to a great year with you! We are going to have so much fun!
