Teen Trendsetters « Clubs Listing
Teen Trendsetters is a nationally recognized program managed by the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy. Teen mentors meet second grade mentees weekly for a minimum of 24 contacts throughout the school year. Teens are expected to be at each mentoring session on time, be prepared for each mentoring session, and be a positive role model. The program allows high school students to give back to their community, engage in a rewarding experience with classmates, and assist a child to become a fluent reader.
Our October 30th mentoring will be held in the Intermediate School's media center at 3 PM. We have a variety of activities planned for our required science lesson. Please bring your white board and marker, but you may leave your other supplies at home. If you're interested in reading to a small group of students at one of the learning centers, see me in the high school media center. Thanks! Mrs. Whittaker
