Audition Requirements for The Centerville Ghost

Please prepare the following monologue for you audition. If the character you wish to play has an accent or certain characteristics, please implement those character traits into you monologue.

Audition dates are August 21 and 24 from 2:50 to 4:00.  You may choose either of the audition dates to attend. One the day of your audition, please bring your audition form.

Female Monologue:

I have not cared to live in Centerville Chase myself since my grand-aunt, the dowager duchess of Bolton was. . . 'frightened' . . . into a fit.  A fit from which she never fully recovered.  I feel bound to tell you, Mr. and Mrs. Otis that the ghost has been seen by several living members of my family.  None of you, I fear, realize the gravity of the situation. Sir Simon is not to be taken lightly.

Male Monologue:

Oh, she believes in what she says.  Up to a point. I bet there isn't a manor house, or a castle, or a. . . chase, in England without a resident ghost floating around. Helps sell property.  Because we're Americans, Lady Canterville probably thinks a ghost will cinch the deal. She's awfully anxious to sell the place.  Take my word for it.  If there's a ghost here, it will turn out to be a whistle of wind in the bell tower.
