Ms. Sandra Carrion « Teacher Connection / Documents / Calendar

Spanish 1 will be working on chapter 4 from the middle of February through the middle of March.  Our cultural focus is Spain and we will continue the study of present tense verbs but will now be  learning irregular verbs such as verbs that stem change e>ie, o>ue and e> i.  We will also be studying direct object pronouns.  Our first vocabulary list will be clothing and colors, the second will be foods and places to go in our community and the transportation methods used to get there.

Spanish 2 will be working on chapter 4 from the middle of February through the end of March.  Our cultural focus will be on Mexico. We will be learning the second of the past tenses called the imperfect and we'll be learning how to use the preterit and the imperfect correctly when narrating our past actions.  We'll also be adding to our list of irregular preterit verbs to ensure we can use both tenses correctly as we speak and write in Spanish.  Both our  vocabulary lists will highlight words to describe the ancient civilizations such as the Aztec and Maya of Mexico and our modern cities and towns of today.
