We have completed another successful pet food drive! We filled the pick up truck of Ms. Labbe from the Sumter County Humane Society. We are now planning our Welcome Kits give away for next month. We are giving the incoming 6th graders a "Go Buffalo" sling bag w/ some needed tools for success and some advice letters from their peers here at the VCMS. We are celebrating this year in Builder's Club at our banquet on May 6th! Good job to all fo the Builder's Club members and see you next year!

What is the Builders Club? The Builders Club is a Kiwanis sponsored service leadership program in middle schools. The objects of our club are to: (1) provide opportunities for working together in service to school and community, (2) develop leadership potential, (3) foster the development of strong moral character, and (4) encourage loyalty to school, community, and nation.
How do we accomplish our objectives? Leadership is built through the election of officers. All members are also full participators in each of our activities. We support our community with service projects. In the past we have traveled to the intermediate and primary centers to read to students, raised money for Kiwanis projects (selling candy grams, doing a car wash, working at the closet clutter event), and gathered supplies to donate to the SPCA/Humane Society. Our members vote on and organize these events.
Check the calendar for a list of upcoming meetings and activities.
Our Kiwanis of Lady Lake sponsors are Mr. Bud Brown and Mrs. Glendia Brown.
We are excited about another wonderful year working with friends and helping our community.
