Keys and Everglades

We are pleased to inform you that we will be leading The Villages Charter Middle School 7th grade students on a program to experience science in a whole new way in the Florida Keys and Everglades.  This program is a once in a lifetime opportunity to “feel” science and fully grasp the real life application of the lessons taught in the classroom.   We have led this program several years now and look forward to leading it again.

This program promises to be a powerful hands-on experience that will stay with participants throughout their lives.  These hands-on activities will create the right balance of fun and education to develop critical thinking skills, bring classroom theory to reality, and make science enjoyable.  Our program will include extraordinary activities at amazing locations: swimming with dolphins in Florida Keys, an airboat ride through the Everglades – the only ecosystem of its kind in the world, and a snorkeling expedition in the largest coral reef in the United States. 

Details about our program are listed below in a sample agenda of a typical trip.  We encourage you to register as soon as possible; space on this program is very limited due to capacity constraints.  There will be a trip informational meeting on SEPTEMBER 8, 2014 at 5:30 in the cafeteria.  We will discuss details of the this trip and collect deposits for students and chaperone request forms.

Payment Information: The cost for this all-inclusive trip is $700.  $200.00 due upon acceptance notice (hopefully early September) after registration and remaining balance will be broken up into 3 easy payments or you may pay in full.

  • 1st payment – October 26th of $200.00
  • 2nd payment – January 21st of $200.00
  • 3rd payment – February 24th of $100.00

Mark your calendars for the following dates:

  • MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2014   5:30 - 6:30 Informational meeting in the cafeteria for anyone interested in attending NEW DATE
  • April 28, 2015      5:30 - 6:30 Trip meeting in the cafeteria for student attending and at least one parent
  • May 12, 2015      5:30 Chaperone ONLY meeting room 131 (Mrs. Smith's room)
