Welcome to 7th Grade Civics and Economics! Brace yourself for a challenging last semester of what we hope will contain many positive educational experiences for you. By the end of this school year, you will have gained considerable knowledge and will be able to see the world more clearly so that the impact you will make upon it will have greater significance. I am looking forward to sharing this year with you and helping you succeed not only in this course, but in life as well - as you apply what you will learn to many of life's situations and better yourself as well as society.
We are starting to transition into the Economics phase of this course as we begin to study the Government's involvement in the economy. So before we get into personal budgeting and finance, we will see how the government does it. Students will also learn about international trade and economics systems around the world. Therefore, we will be spending a considerable amount of time on U.S. foreign policy. Every week, students will have some type of review of past Civics lessons to allow them to retain what was learned earlier in the year for the State Exam in May.
