Welcome to 7th Grade Civics and Economics! Brace yourself for a challenging year of what I hope will contain many positive educational experiences for you. By the end of this school year, you will have gained considerable knowledge and will be able to see the world more clearly so that the impact you will make upon it will have greater significance. I am looking forward to sharing this year with you and helping you succeed not only in this course, but in life as well - as you apply what you will learn to many of life's situations and better yourself as well as society.
The week of 9/22 is designated Freedom Week with the intent on giving emphasis to our founding documents. Students will be reminded of key ideals that we studied in the Declaration of Independence as well as continuing our study of the creation of our Constitution in 1787. Students are also presenting their research projects on presidential elections for a portion of each class period. A study guide for chapter 5 will be posted here as a pdf file by 9/26. Students will also receive a hard copy of it on that day.
Lesson Topics and Assignments will be posted weekly on the calendar. I will also post pdf files of various items for students (study guides, homework and project rubrics) made available below.
