HISTORY
We are testing on Chapter 5 on Monday and then we will finish out the week in Chapter 6 talking about the American Revolutionary War and working on the 2nd Quarter Project: The British Parliamentary Acts. Also: Notes went home about the fieldtrip to Brooksfield in January (shown below). This is a great opportunity for the students to experience the sounds, smells and accents of the Civil War era. Permission slip and money are due by this Friday, November 21st.

COMPUTERS
We are beginning to work in HTML now and we will be working on that until the marking period/semester ends.  Please remember that any regular assignment that has a grade below 90% may be redone - and should be redone - until mastery of the elements is displayed.

Grading/Re-Grading:
 - 3rd period: all complete through 11/11 assignments
 - 4th period: all complete through 11/11 assignments
 - 5th period: all complete through 11/11 assignments
Remember: any regular assignment (Access #8 is excluded) with a grade lower than 90% can be redone.

End of Course Exam Exemption: The cutoff date for work to be submitted that will be included in the calculation for the potential exemption is Friday December 5th. That will allow time for grading/re-grading before the report is run. Students that received a 90% or higher for the first marking period and those that are at 90% or higher when the report is run will be exempt from the exam.

MATH
We continue to work on our daily homework assignments and we are now using IXL during our class to practice in areas that need to be strengthened. Students will be receiving a mastery grade each week.

Please reinforce the importance of respecting the space and work time of others; repeated distractions make it hard for work to be done. If your student is not receiving at least a 4/5 or 5/5 each day for being "Prepared and Working" that means that time is not being spent wisely and he/she is disrupting the work environment. It is also imperative that the students TRY their homework independently - we are starting to have days where this hasn't happened and they are just waiting to start it, or even to look at it for the first time in our class.
