--> ALL: Picture Retake Day is this Wednesday - Any student that wasn't in attendance for the first picture day will have his/her picture taken regardless of purchase. All other students must be returning a previously purchased package or be purchasing a new package.
Students do NOT have school this Friday!
HISTORY 1st Period: Please review the "Basket Benefit" letter that your student brought home today - all donations need to be received no later than 10/23/2014. Monday: We did a review today and students worked to complete their study guides. The study guide is not a grade in and of itself - however it is the student's ticket to being able to do test corrections should that need present itself. We will begin discussing the Life in the American Colonies (Chapter 4) this week.
COMPUTERS 3rd period: All grading and re-grading done for work submitted everywhere as of 7:30pm 10/8/2014 4th period: All grading and re-grading done for work submitted everywhere as of 9:20pm 10/8/2014 5th period: All grading and re-grading done for work submitted everywhere as of 7:00pm 10/9/2014 Working on re-grading work for all again now - regular assignments and code.org. Students have until 11:00pm tonight to submit work for this marking period. No new work has been assigned for this marking period since 9/29/2014 and students have been provided with printed progress reports in class three times over the past two weeks. There has been ample time to submit and resubmit work, both in class as well as the 5 days during after-school tutoring.
MATH We continue to work on our daily homework assignments and in the Aleks program. Please reinforce the importance of respecting the space and work time of others; repeated distractions make it hard for work to be done. If your student is not receiving at least a 4/5 or 5/5 each day for being "Prepared and Working" that means that time is not being spent wisely and he/she is disrupting the work environment. It is also imperative that the students TRY their homework independently - we are starting to have days where this hasn't happened and they are just waiting to start it, or even to look at it for the first time in our class.
