HELP NEEDED: The 6th graders are having a baseball field day on MARCH 26. We are looking for help all day for this event. It will be a great way to earn PI time. Please email me if you have some baseball knowledge and are willing to help out with this fun event!
If you are unable to attend, you can help by donating snacks for the concession stand. We need donations of small bottles of Gatorade, sunflower seeds, and small boxes of cracker jacks. PI will be given if you send your receipt in!.
3rd period: We will be reading the book, Hoot. This week we will concentrate on the chapters 17 and 18. All students have been given a copy of the book to keep for the entire unit. Students are encouraged to take their Hoot book home with them to read or reread chapters. There will be assessments given every chapter. Students are allowed to use their books for the tests. THE FINAL celebration of the book HOOT will be Tuesday March 17 when we will watch the movie HOOT. We will then compare the book events to the movie plot.
There is no assigned book for this class and no daily homework. However each week our class will have a root of the week. On Monday, each student will get a list of 10 words that all contain the same root. We will study the words during the week with the quiz on Friday. Students will need to study their list for the quiz on Friday. A complete list of the root words can be found on my website as a PDF file.(Look under SECOND nine week root word lists.)
