How Rome gained control of the Mediterranean region
The events that enabled Rome to become an empire
What caused the Roman Empire to become prosperous
How the Greeks influenced Roman religion, art, architecture, and literature
The reason the Roman Empire declined
Below you will find the dates for the chapter quizzes and test. Please make sure your child is studying the study guides that I provide for each quiz and test; I have also attached a chapter summary below. Students also have access to the online textbook that has practice games, charts, notes, and videos to help them as well. Also, students have the opportunity to earn extra credit each nine weeks. Students are required to select a Current Event article and summarize the story in their own words under the connection section of the worksheet. Please include the article with the extra credit form. The forms for the extra credit are attached to the PDF documents on my Teacher Connection page below.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: 6th Grade World History
TEXTBOOK:Discovering Our Past: A History of the World - Early Ages
Sixth Grade World History
will focus on World History beginning around 8000 B.C. up to A.D. 1500. We will begin our studies by discussing what
historians do and the influences geography has on the way people live. Next we will delve into the early ages,
starting with early humans, Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, the Israelites, Ancient
Greeks, Ancient India, early China, Roman civilization, and the Americas.

Chapter 11 and 12 : Rome
Due to the scheduling for the FSA test in April all quizzes and test will be open book. Testing dates may vary from class to class due to scheduling changes from April 13th - 30th.
P.I. Hours: We are running extremely low on tissues, I will give PI hours for anyone who donates tissues to our class. Please send in your receipt and the monetary amount will count towards your hours. Thank you!
