COURSE DESCRIPTION:  6th Grade World History

TEXTBOOK: Discovering Our Past:  A History of the World - Early Ages

Sixth Grade World History will focus on World History beginning around 8000 B.C. up to A.D. 1500.  We will begin our studies by discussing what historians do and the influences geography has on the way people live.  Next we will delve into the early ages, starting with early humans, Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, the Israelites, Ancient Greeks, Ancient India, early China, Roman civilization, and the Americas.

 Supply List for World History:

  • 2" Binder
  • Notebook paper
  • 5 tab divider (1-Bell Ringers, 2- Notes, 3- Classwork, 4- Test/Quizzes, 5- Projects/Homework)

Important Dates:

September 22nd - 26th: Freedom Week - Students are designing a poster for the Lions Club, the theme selected is "Peace, Love, and Understanding around the World". We will spend two days working on the poster in class and then the students will finish the poster at home and bring it back on Friday September 26th. Rubric is attached below as a PDF.
