Happy New Year! During the month of January, American History students will discuss the challenges facing the young United States (not least of which was how we were going to govern ourselves). We will spend time analyzing America's first attempt at self-governance, the strengths/weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation, and the Federalist debate. Finally, toward the end of January, we will spend time looking closely at how the Constitution has evolved to allow for more civic participation among Americans.
Any rising 8th grade or 7th grade student interested in learning more about the upcoming trips to Washington D.C. and Charlottesville are invited to go to the Field Trips page.
