Middle School Field Trips
School field trips are designed to excite and engage our students with “hands-on learning" opportunities. These hands-on activities will create the right balance of fun and education to develop critical thinking skills, bring classroom theory to reality, and make learning enjoyable. Our trips vary from a day trip to Daytona International Speedway to week long trips to the Florida Keys or Washington D.C. Field trips are a great way to cement difficult information.
Students must maintain quality academic performance and meet behavioral guidelines to be eligible to participate in these classroom extensions. If a student’s grades are questionable, it would not be reasonable to allow him/her to miss school to attend a trip. Also remember – students are ambassadors of The Villages Charter School and ultimately of The Villages. Their behavior is a direct reflection on their classmates, teachers, and our school. Our high standards do not stop at school doors but follow anytime they are representing us.
The 6th Grade EPCOT trip will be on Friday, Decemer 2nd. We will discuss the field trip during open house. A letter about the field trip will be emailed out shortly after open house with information about the trip. Information about how to be considered as a chaperone will be included in the letter.
- Florida Keys
May 15, 2017 - May 19, 2017 This field trip was created for seventh grade students so that they could experience science in a whole new way in the Florida Keys and Everglades. This program is a once in a lifetime opportunity to “feel” science and fully grasp the real life application of the lessons taught in the classroom. If you missed the informational meeting please check out the PowerPoint which covers everything we discussed.
