Middle School Field Trips

School field trips are designed to excite and engage our students with “hands-on learning" opportunities. These hands-on activities will create the right balance of fun and education to develop critical thinking skills, bring classroom theory to reality, and make learning enjoyable. Our trips vary from a day trip to Daytona International Speedway to week long trips to the Florida Keys or Washington D.C. Field trips are a great way to cement difficult information.

Students must maintain quality academic performance and meet behavioral guidelines to be eligible to participate in these classroom extensions. If a student’s grades are questionable, it would not be reasonable to allow him/her to miss school to attend a trip. Also remember – students are ambassadors of The Villages Charter School and ultimately of The Villages. Their behavior is a direct reflection on their classmates, teachers, and our school. Our high standards do not stop at school doors but follow anytime they are representing us.

7th Grade

  • Florida Keys

May 16, 2016 - May 20, 2016  This field trip was created for seventh grade students so that they could experience science in a whole new way in the Florida Keys and Everglades. This program is a once in a lifetime opportunity to “feel” science and fully grasp the real life application of the lessons taught in the classroom. If you missed the  informational meeting please check out the PowerPoint which covers everything we discussed.

8th Grade

  • Washington D.C. & Williamsburg

The dates for the 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. are May 22-27, 2016 (that’s a Sunday through Friday). Those dates include the travel days as well.  If you would like to take advantage of early bird registration and ExploreAmerica’s monthly payment plan can register by visiting Once there, type in our Tour Number:  1726537WW. Early registration has begun; the earlier that you register, the lower the monthly payments. If you would prefer to register over the phone, then you may do so by calling 1-888-333-9756. Please click on the Washington D.C. Trip link above for the PowerPoint used at the Parent Meeting on August 13, 2015.
